Privacy Policy
Introduction
Indelible Investigations (the “Company”) is a Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) that prepares Consumer Reports and Investigative Consumer Reports (i.e. background check reports, due diligence reports, etc) for our clients as allowed by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and other applicable state, federal and international laws.
The Company is committed to maintaining the highest degree of security given the sensitive nature of the information obtained and under our control. This privacy policy outlines our general policy and practices for protecting personally identifiable information (i.e. full name, physical address, email address, Social Security number, date of birth, etc), including the collection and intended use of such information, the sharing of such information, and how this information is stored and destroyed. This policy applies to all consumer information received by the Company whether in electronic, paper or verbal format.
Purpose of Collection and Intended Use of Consumer Information
The Company collects consumer information for the sole purpose of generating a Consumer Report for our clients. A consumer is informed of the specific purpose for which the Company and/or our client collects and intends to use this information at the time the consumer completes and signs a release authorization form.
Individuals who wish to limit the use of their personal information, or who do not wish to be the subject of a Consumer Report, should not provide it to the Company and/or our clients, and should not complete and sign the release authorization form.
Sharing of Consumer Information
The Company does not sell or disclose consumer information to third parties for purposes other than for which it was originally intended, except as stated within this policy. We limit the dissemination of consumer information only to those with legitimate business and permissible purposes, or as otherwise authorized by the consumer. Consumers are hereby notified that their personal information may be disclosed to a third party in conjunction with an authorized background check. Consumers who wish to opt out from the sharing of their information should not provide their information to the Company and/or our client and should not complete and sign the release authorization form.
We may disclose consumer information: a) to our third-party vendors and/or service providers as necessary or appropriate to provide the products or services requested by our clients; b) to the extent necessary or appropriate to government agencies, advisors, and other third parties in order to comply with applicable laws or regulations, or if such action is necessary to protect the rights, property or legal claims of the Company, its affiliated companies, clients, individuals or the public; c) in the event of an actual or contemplated transaction by which the Company or our assets are acquired by another company.
Information Security, Storage and Disposal
The Company takes all reasonable measures to protect consumer information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. The Company utilizes strong privacy and data security policies. All employees have signed confidentiality agreements and are regularly trained in security procedures and protocols. Any data transmitted to or from our website is protected by a secure socket layer (SSL) key which encrypts the transmitted data. All data is stored in a secure server network, protected by firewalls and other security measures. The Company also properly disposes of information whether in physical or electronic form via (1) shredding paper documents, (2) destroying electronic files and (3) utilizing the services of a reputable document destruction company.
Children’s Privacy
The Company does not conduct business with children under the age of 18; nor does the company knowingly collect or request information from children under the age of 18.
